Driving Directions to BioScience, from the South

(Seattle / Sea-Tac Airport / Portland / Tacoma)

From Seattle (or SeaTac), head south on Interstate 5 toward Portland and Tacoma.  When you get to Tacoma, you will see the Tacoma Dome on the right.  Immediately after passing the Dome, you will need to get into the right lane to take Highway 16 toward Bremerton and Gig Harbor.  There are three lanes exiting this exit, be in the middle lane.

If you are coming from the Portland direction, as you approach Tacoma, again take the exit to Bremerton and Gig Harbor (Highway 16).

As you leave I-5 and turn onto Highway 16, in about 5 miles you will come to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge on the way to Bremerton.  In another 15 miles you will see a sign that says, Port Orchard, next two exits.  Take the first exit, Sedgwick Road, and turn right (east) at the stop sign.  Although there will soon be a stop light with signs pointing to Port Orchard to the left, continue straight ahead toward Manchester State Park.

Continue past the next set of lights (Jackson), then turn left at the flashing light, on to Long Lake Road.  Continue until the road ends and turn right on Mile Hill Drive (which is not clearly marked).

You will pass Nebraska and California Streets and then at the bottom of the hill, turn left on Alaska. In about one mile you will pass the only stop sign (Madrone Ave.), then continue to 2398 Alaska Avenue, on the second block on the left side.  The house is white brick with a red tiled roof and there is a sign in front that says Robert Erdmann.  Parking is available behind the house.

If you fly into the Airport, there is another option, the Kitsap County Transporter bus.  If costs about $16 each way, and I think a round trip is slightly less.  It will bring you to Port Orchard to the Texaco station.  If you call us from the Airport to tell us when you are leaving, we will meet you there or you can call us after you arrive at the station.   Or the bus driver can telephone and arrange for a cab to pick you up.  The bus leaves the airport at 20 minutes past the hour every hour.  There is a nice motel at this same stop called the Guest House Inn where our clients often stay.  There is also a lovely Bed & Breakfast nearby, which we would be happy to refer you to.
